WeConnect Energy is currently recruiting for a Geology Lead (12-Month Contract) on behalf of our client, an E&P operator situated in the UK.  

 

This is a full-time, day-rate contract (via Ltd Company). 

 

Start Date: ASAP

 

Location: London (Hybrid) 

 

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Geologist and Subject Matter Expert to support their operated asset interests covering all stages of field maturity across exploration, development & appraisal, and production. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide ad-hoc support to specific non-operated interests.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Advising on and supporting all geological studies undertaken
  • Maintain a geological strategy to ensure technical support for all current and future asset studies and business requirements (including forward plan for further geological studies and data acquisition)
  • Provide functional assurance for all geological studies undertaken 
  • Support Corporate Reserves and Technical Assurance team
  • Line manager for Senior Geologist positions within the Subsurface Team
  • Individual delivery of geological interpretation and modelling support to individual projects as required
  • Responsible for maintaining and identifying new technical workflows to address business requirements (including technical software requirements)
  • Responsible for maintaining a coherent geological interpretation across all license interests
  • Ensure all geological interpretations are integrated with available geophysical, petrophysical and reservoir engineering data and views
  • Assess and manage functional health. Identify and provide functional training across EPT and RMS for staff development. Recognise need for additional third party support to maintain strong functional support
  • Strong people management and behavioural skills to ensure motivated geophysical functional support to deliver in support of all asset business decisions
  • Develop strong technical links with the PPA, PSA and Exploration assets


Key Competencies

 

Technical

 

  • The candidate should show evidence of having worked on projects through the entire exploration to development cycle, with a particular emphasis placed on having strong in depth experience of field appraisal, development and production activities
  • Strong team player. Proven record of working effectively with varied multifunctional & multicultural teams on complex and challenging projects, often under tight timescales. Willingness to challenge and being open to challenge from others
  • Expert in all geological evaluation and interpretation techniques across a wide range of geological settings (basin to field reservoir scale). Particularly strong background in interpretation of depositional systems through integration of well log, core, seismic, pressure and dynamic test and production data
  • Expert in subsurface contribution towards planning and execution of drilling operations (exploration, appraisal and development)
  • Expert in Petrel reservoir modelling workflows for HCIIP, reservoir simulation, field development and well planning. Clear understanding of how to define key geophysical uncertainties that impact all business decisions
  • Advanced understanding of all key geophysical, petrophysical and reservoir engineering concepts and evaluation techniques as they relate to any integrated reservoir evaluation
